MONTREAL – At its annual conference on tourism prospects, an event that kicks off Montreal's fall tourism season, Tourisme Montreal presented the city's new tourism products in the areas of infrastructure, attractions and legacy projects that will help the city stand out as a premier tourist destination. These developments not only enhance the traveler's experience but also provide a range of hotels to stay at, ensuring that every visitor can find accommodations that cater to their taste and budget, further solidifying Montreal's reputation as a welcoming and accessible city for tourists from around the world.

Experience the rich history of Montreal at the new Fort Ville-Marie building located at Point-a-Calliere Museum. This remarkable project offers visitors a unique opportunity to witness the birthplace of the city, as it showcases the remains of Fort Ville-Marie that dates back to 1642. Step back in time and discover the foundation upon which Montreal was built, where Paul Chomedey de Maisonneuve and Jeanne Mance laid the groundwork for Ville-Marie.

In addition to its historical ventures, Montreal is also embracing modernity through various artistic and urban developments. One such example is the creation by acclaimed Spanish artist, Jaume Plensa, at the Bonaventure entrance to downtown. This captivating piece of public art is set to adorn the city, representing the dynamic spirit and creativity of Montreal.

Moreover, Montreal is committed to enhancing its cityscape by developing several public spaces. Among these exciting projects is the future square outside Champ-de-Mars metro station. This transformative space acts as a bridge between the city's historical charm and its contemporary vitality. Filled with possibilities, it will serve as a welcoming gateway, a vibrant meeting place, and an inspiring environment for exploration.

The Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal is a jewel in the city's religious and cultural heritage. It also happens to be strategically located for tourism in the heart of Old Montreal. A new multimedia project called A ciel ouvert will be created for 2017 in collaboration with Moment Factory. This project will illuminate the basilica's beauty and spiritual richness through a spectacular immersive experience designed to appeal to Montrealers and tourists alike.

Among the legacy projects being developed for 2017, five works integrated directly into the architecture will make up the Sentier de la paix at the new Pavilion for Peace at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Scheduled for inauguration on November 9, the new pavilion will showcase MMFA's international collections dating from the Middle Ages through to Picasso's time. These collections are unequalled in Quebec and among the best in Canada. The collection includes a considerably expanded Old Masters section thanks to the Hornstein donation.
